Michael Gungor, Executive Producer
Michael Gungor is one half of Gungor, and is a co-host of The Liturgists Podcast. Michael is a Grammy nominated musician and composer who lives in Los Angeles, California. He leads the musical collective Gungor with his wife Lisa Gungor and is a co-founder of The Liturgists with Mike McHargue ('Science Mike').
Mike McHargue, Managing Director
Mike McHargue (better known as Science Mike) is an author, podcaster, and speaker who travels the world helping people understand the science of life's most profound and mundane experiences. His bestselling debut book, Finding God in the Waves, has helped thousands understand faith in the 21st century. Mike's the host of Ask Science Mike, and cohosts The Liturgists Podcast. He's recently appeared before sold-out audiences in New York, Chicago, and London, and is a frequent contributor to RELEVANT magazine, Storyline, BioLogos, and The Washington Post.
Mike lives in Los Angles, CA with his wife, Jenny, and two daughters.
Hillary McBride, Host
Hillary McBride is a PhD candidate at UBC and a Registered Clinical Counsellor in private practice in Vancouver. Her clinical work includes complex and acute mental illness and supporting adults towards wellbeing, but her areas of clinical specialty focus include trauma, perinatal mental health, spirituality and mental health, and women's relationship with their bodies, feminist and experiential approaches to therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, attachment work, existentialism, sex, sexuality, and gender. Her academic research is focused on women's experiences across the developmental lifespan from a feminist perspective, including motherhood, puberty, body image and eating disorders, sex and sexuality, aging, and trauma. She was recently awarded the international Young Investigators Award for her work in human sexuality, and recently published her first book with Post Hill Press entitled "Mothers, daughters, and body image: Learning to love ourselves as we are". Hillary's research has been recognized by the American Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, and the Government of Canada. Her next book "Embodiment and Eating Disorders: Theory, Research, Prevention, and Treatment" is out in June 2018. William Matthews, Host
William Matthews was born in the city of Detroit and raised in Raleigh NC. His father and grandfather before him a preacher and his mother a social worker & church choir director. William is known around the world as a singer songwriter and popular recording artist who for the past decade has extensively toured and performed all across the U.S, Europe, Australia, South Africa, Brazil & Asia. During that time William wrote and performed many popular songs that appeared on several Bethel Music compilations, many of which debuted at number 1 or highly charted on Billboard including his first record Hope's Anthem. His songs are sung in churches all over the world.
William's passion is artistry and advocacy. During the 2016 election William joined the Not Who We Are campaign and became a strong political & spiritual advocate against the blatant racism, sexism and xenaphobic rhetoric of the Trump campaign. He filmed a short music documentary entitled "Your Voice Matters" showcasing Detroit & his family's roots in the black church, which was highlighted by media entities like CNN & Yahoo News.
William also serves on the board of environmental advocacy group Micah Challenge which in the fall of 2015, filmed a climate change documentary For The Love Of featuring him and other musicians interacting with scientists and global political leaders at the COP21, Paris Climate Summit. William currently resides in Los Angeles and recently has finished his much anticipated sophomore record.
