What will we talk about at The Liturgists Gathering?

For many of us, the old categories don't work anymore–sacred or secular, science or faith. Of course, there is a challenge when your boxes break apart: you lose your old answers to life's biggest questions. Why am I here? Where did I come from? How do I know what is true?

This is a lonely process. Most communities find a comfortable center of gravity in one of three perspectives: science, faith, or art. So, blurring the boundaries and exploring the spaces between them can be dangerous.

We'll dive into topics that are often off-the-table in spiritual communities, like:
How do we know God and accept science?
What's the science behind who we are?
Where does consciousness come from, and why do so many people yearn for God?
How do we create art that transcends the cultural ghettos of the church, or the secular?
How do we lead people in an age where the old answers seem trite?
Can we find and form safe spiritual communities?

How is this different from Belong?

Belong events are small–100 people or less. Though that fosters intimacy, it also means the tickets are really expensive–there's no way to spread out the costs of putting on the event. The Liturgists Gathering is a very similar event to Belong, but scaled up a little so that tickets are more affordable.

Where is the venue?

We're trying to be accessible to as many people as possible, so we've chosen 4 regional hubs for The Liturgists Gathering. Our goal was to be an realistic drive or affordable flight for most of our USA-based listeners in 2016. The four cities for this year's Gatherings are Dallas, Denver, Chicago, and Los Angeles

Where can I stay?

Your best bet is to use an Online Travel Agency (Priceline, Expedia, Hotels.com, etc.) to find hotels near the venue at a price point you're comfortable with.

How are meals handled?

We're working with venues in walkable areas with multiple options on dining and after-event social outings.

How can I connect with other attendees prior to the event?

You'll have the option to join a private Facebook group prior to the event to get to know your fellow attendees and work out airport ride sharing, mealtime meet-ups, and other activities during the event.

What's the cancellation policy?

You can cancel your ticket, less processing fees (imposed by our vendor and financial institutions) anytime before November 2, 2015.
